Executive Summary (General Business): On August 26, 2024, Resolution 24-R59 passed which established revised Keep Port St. Lucie Beautiful (KPSLB) bylaws. Pursuant to Section 3.05 of the City’s Charter, the Mayor appoints, upon consent of the City Council, the members of all City committees.  Staff requests that the City Council approve the Mayor’s recommended appointees to the KPSLB committee.

Staff Recommendation: Move the Council approve the Mayor’s recommended appointees to the KPSLB committee.

 

Alternate Recommendations:

1.                     Move that the Council amend the recommendation and approve the recommendations by the Mayor.

2.                     Move that the Council not approve the recommendation and provide direction.

 

Background: Resolution 24-R59 provided for revised Keep Port St. Lucie Beautiful (KPSLB) bylaws. Article II, Section of the KPSLB committee bylaws provides that two of the seven-member board consist of public, private, and/or civic representatives.  These two appointees fulfill that requirement.  Per section 3.05 of the City’s Charter, the Mayor appoints, with the consent of the City Council, the members of all City committees.  Staff requests that the City Council approve the Mayor’s recommended appointees to the KPSLB committee.
