Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council approve the eleventh amendment to the interlocal agreement with St. Lucie County for Traffic Control and Security at the St. Lucie County Sports Complex.
Alternate Recommendations:
1. Move that the Council amend the recommendation and approve the eleventh amendment to the interlocal agreement with SLC for Traffic Control and Security at the St. Lucie County Sports Complex.
2. Move that the Council not approve the eleventh amendment to the interlocal agreement with SLC and provide feedback on improving the contract.
Background: On June 21, 1988, the Port St. Lucie Police Department and St. Lucie County entered an Interlocal Agreement that provided off-duty City Police Officers to perform traffic control and security during scheduled events at the St. Lucie County Sports Complex. Since that time, multiple amendments have been authorized and executed by the parties continuing the agreement. This eleventh amendment is presented for Council’s consideration/approval.

Financial Information: The County agrees to pay the City for extra duty details at the following rates: $65.00 for each hour of service provided by a Police Officer, with a 3-hour minimum; $70.00 for each hour of service provided by a Police Sergeant, with a 3-hour minimum; $74.50 for each hour of service provided by a Police Lieutenant, with a 3-hour minimum. There is a $60 administrative fee. Additionally, for the twelve (12) City-recognized holidays, the rates are increased $10 per hour for each Police Officer, Police Sergeant, and Police Lieutenant.
