Executive Summary (General Business): The City of Port St. Lucie’s 2024 PSL in Lights Home Outdoor Decorating Contest celebrated nine winning displays in three categories with an awards ceremony. First place winners received trophies and gift cards, with second and third place winners also received gift cards. Community voting on 176 entries highlighted creative decorations and festive cheer, with over 1,300 votes cast.
Presentation Information: The City will recognize the 9 award winners of the 2024 PSL in Lights Home Outdoor Decorating Contest. Staff will pass out PSL in Lights trophies to the first-place winners and other prizes to the second and third place winners. Winners and City Council Members will be asked to pose for pictures by prize category.
Staff Recommendation: Request that the Council recognize the following entries.
Holiday Light Show Category:
• First Place: Ketona Light Show; 100 gift card and a trophy
• Second Place: Jamie and Kim Geller; 50 gift card
• Third Place: Rushton Family; 25 gift card
New Kid on the Block Category:
• First Place: The North Pole; 100 gift card and a trophy
• Second Place: Pamela and Anthony; 50 gift card
• Third Place: Teddy Pernal; 25 gift card
Showstopper Category:
• First Place: Frank Terranova; 100 gift card and a trophy
• Second Place: Joseph and Lisa Casper; 50 gift card
• Third Place: Dovey Family; 25 gift card
Background: With a total of 1,392 votes cast, the ninth-annual PSL in Lights Home Outdoor Decorating Contest dazzled the neighborhood with shimmering displays of festive cheer, as homes transformed into magical wonderlands. The City of Port St. Lucie called upon homeowners, tenants, and lessees with a passion for Christmas decorating and a hint of Griswold spirit to participate, making it a colorful showcase of community pride.
