Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council award Contract #20220021 and make a one-time purchase for a Topsoil Recycler Machine Track Model with Soil Shredder Conveyor with Powerscreen of Florida, Inc.

 

Alternate Recommendations:

1.                     Move that the Council amend the recommendation and award Contract #20220021.

2.                     Move that the Council not approve Contract #20220021 and provide staff with direction.

 

Background: The Public Works Department uses recycled soil for various purposes throughout the City.  The current topsoil machine has reached the end of its useful life and is in need of replacement.

 

An E-Bid was issued on November 29, 2021 to 386 potential suppliers and 3 supplemental suppliers.  There were 5 plan holders for this bid with 2 proposals received on December 21, 2021. 

 

Issues/Analysis: Staff has reviewed the proposal and finds that Powerscreen of Florida, Inc. provides the best value to the City. 

                     

Financial Information: Funds are appropriated in the FY 21-22 budget for the Stormwater / Street & Drainage / Repair & Maintenance - Equipment (#401-4126-546300-00000).

 

Special Consideration: N/A.

 

Location of Project: Cameo Pit at 1501 SW Cameo Blvd.
