3. Purpose: To contract event catering services for the MIDFLORIDA Event Center.
4. New/Renewal/Modified: New.
5. Duration: The initial term of the contract(s) is for two (2) calendar year(s) from the execution date of the dually signed contract. The City shall have two, two (2) year option(s) to renew, which options shall be exercisable at the sole discretion of the City.
6. Benefits to Port St. Lucie: To provide quality event catering services, for any individual or entity that utilizes catering services at the MIDFLORIDA Event Center.
7. Cost to Port St. Lucie (Annual and Potential): N/A.

Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council award Contract# 202000102 to Huszar Family Catering DBA Creative Catering for event catering services at the MID-FLORIDA Event Center.
Alternate Recommendations:
1. Move that the Council amend the recommendation and award Contract# 202000102.
2. Move that the Council not approve Contract# 202000102 and provide staff with direction.
Background: The MIDFLORIDA Event Center is a local, state and regional special event center of the City of Port St. Lucie. By hosting events and offering a variety of services, the Event Center showcases and provides economic benefit to its community. The venue’s promise is to provide an exceptional product, in a safe environment, while maintaining the integrity and financial health of the facility. The current contract for event catering services ends on January 31, 2021.
An RFP was issue on September 25, 2020 to 79 potential contractors. There were 11 plan holders with 2 proposals being received on November 06, 2020.
Issues/Analysis: Staff has reviewed the proposals and has determined that Huszar Family Catering DBA Creative Catering was the only responsive proposer. In the past and as a supplemental contractor to the current event catering contract, the potential awardee has provided exceptional services to the City; additionally, they provided very detailed responses to the City’s Mandatory Questions and Mandatory Scored Questions. The potential awardee also offered a competitive commission return rate to the City.
Financial Information: The contractor has agreed to pay the City the below commission sales without regard to actual collections by Contractor.
• 12% of Catering Sales.
• 10% of Concession Sales.
• 15% of Alcohol Sales.
• 10% of Floral Sales, Decorating Sales, or any other sales (including) food and beverages by outside vendors engaged by Contractor.
• 12% of food and beverage sales, catering sales and concession sales by Contractor for City of Port St. Lucie government agency functions, that occur off the Center Premises.
