Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council accept the purchase offer for 166 SE Strada Tione from Joseph Lowry for $105,000. This offer met the appraised value.

Alternate Recommendations:

1.                     Move that the Council amend the recommendation and accept the purchase offer for all properties.

2.                     Move that the Council not approve and provide staff with direction.

Background: Following the requirements that are established in City Policy #18-01ccd, all City Departments verified that they had no use for the property and identified it as potential surplus. On April 26, 2021, City Council approved staff to dispose of the property via online auction pursuant to City Policy #18-01ccd.

Issues/Analysis: On May 27, 2021, the City owned property was advertised on the City’s contracted online auction website. In addition, City staff sent an intent to sell notice to the neighboring property owners within 300 feet of the property, issued a press release on all City social media platforms and posted signs on the property advertising the auction. The highest bid was accepted on June 30, 2021, and the purchase will subsequently be funded by the buyer.

Financial Information: The proceeds from the sale of the property will be deposited in the General Fund for Surplus Land Sales (#001-3000-364220-00000).
