Background: Securitas is an international company that provides various security services including, but not limited to, access control, security systems, Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) & Network Video Recorders (NVR’s), physical security and security audits. In the past, the City has outsourced these services to various vendors with sometimes less than desirable results. Martin County, Saint Lucie County School Board and other municipalities throughout the state have retained Securitas’s services with much success. Because of the depth of services and their abundance of qualified technical personnel in our local area, the City will retain Securitas’s services for the above-mentioned needs and additional services as required.
Issues/Analysis: Staff has reviewed Securitas Electronic Security, Inc.’s contract and finds that purchasing the security systems, access control services, equipment and installation directly from Securitas Electronic Security, Inc., provides the best value to the City. Securitas Electronic Security, Inc., meets all the requirements for the City’s procurement ordinance.
Financial Information: Each Department in the City will use one or multiple aspects of this contract. Therefore, there will be various GL codes used.
Special Consideration: N/A.
Location of Project: Various locations throughout the City.
