3. Purpose: To provide landscaping services throughout the City of Port St. Lucie on an as needed basis.
4. New/Renewal/Modified: New.
5. Duration: The initial term is for 4 years with an option to renew for an additional 3 years.
6. Benefits to Port St. Lucie: To provide attractive, well-maintained streetscapes and medians on major corridors.
7. Cost to Port St. Lucie (Annual and Potential): Estimated expenditures for FY 2020-2021 is $1,053,735. Future years expenditures will be as approved in each department’s budget.

Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council award Contract #20200096 and enter into a unit price contract for Landscaping Services with Nature’s Keeper, Inc.
Alternate Recommendations:
1. Move that the Council amend the recommendation and award Contract #20200096.
2. Move that the Council not approve Contract #20200096 and provide staff with direction.
Background: The City of Port St. Lucie has invested a significant amount of funding into improving landscaping on City property and on roadway right-of-ways throughout the City. Periodically, this landscaping requires replacement due to vehicular damage, or other factors such as natural aging. The Public Works Department requires the services of a qualified landscaping contractor to replace trees, plant material and mulch within landscaped areas.
Issues/Analysis: Staff reviewed the proposal from Nature’s Keeper, Inc. and determined it to be responsive and provides the best value to the City. The Bidder is a local firm and has performed numerous successful projects for the City.
Financial Information: Funds are appropriated in the adopted FY 2020-2021 budget for Road & Bridge Fund & Stormwater Fund/Greenbelt & Waterway Maintenance/Landscaping (104/401-4127-534109-00000).
