Summary Brief (General Business): Shoppes of Bougainvillea, LLC, and Shoppes of Bougainvillea II, LLC, owners of 1353 SW Gatlin Boulevard and 1327 SW Gatlin Boulevard, Port St. Lucie, Florida, are requesting the abandonment of the ten (10) foot wide utility easements along the rear lot lines of Lots 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32 and 33, Block 1615, Port St. Lucie Section Twenty-Three, for commercial buildings and a pavement area.

Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council approve to abandon the ten (10) foot wide Utility Easements along the rear lot lines of Lots 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32 and 33, Block 1615, Port St. Lucie Section Twenty-Three.
Alternate Recommendations:
1. Move that the Council amend the recommendation and approve the abandonment of the easements.
2. Move that the Council not approve the abandonments and provide staff direction.
Background: Lots 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32 and 33, Block 1615, Port St. Lucie Section Twenty-Three, contain ten (10) foot wide utility easements along the rear lot lines. The lots are being used for the commercial development and the approved site and construction plans show two (2) commercial buildings and a pavement area being constructed within the existing easement area.
Issues/Analysis: The request to abandon the easements was evaluated by the Public Works Department, Utility Systems Department, and the Public Utility Companies (AT&T, FPL, Comcast, and Florida City Gas). The City Departments and Utility Companies have no objection to the abandonment of the rear easements.
Financial Information: There will be no cost incurred by the City.
Special Consideration: The abandonment of the easements is needed to facilitate the construction of the site in accordance with the approved plans.
Location of Project: Gatlin Boulevard and Bougainvillea Avenue.
