Strategic Plan Link: The City's Goal of a high-performing city government organization.

 

Executive Summary (General Business): This is the Fourth Quarter progress report of the City Council’s Strategic Plan. Staff will provide an overview and analysis of the activities completed to date and will seek direction from the City Council as deemed appropriate. In addition, the City Council is in the process of finalizing the 2023 National Community survey of Port St. Lucie residents. Staff has prepared an additional question for the City Council to consider prior to finalizing the 2023 survey.

 

Presentation Information: 15 minutes. Staff will provide a PowerPoint overview and review the Strategic Plan 4th Quarter Progress Report. 

 

Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council accept the Fourth Quarter/ Strategic Plan Progress Report.

 

Alternate Recommendations:

1.                     Move that the Council amend the recommendation and accept the Fourth Quarter/ Strategic Plan Progress Report.

2.                     Move that the Council provide staff direction.

 

Background: The City of Port St. Lucie’s Strategic Plan was updated and formally adopted by the City Council on April 18, 2022. Staff provides updates on the progress of the Strategic Plan. Staff periodically provides recommendations on methods to advance the Strategic Plan as needed for the Council’s discussion and direction. 

 

The 2022 Port St. Lucie Community Survey will be conducted by the National Research Center in late 2022/early 2023, a timeline has been provided in the attachments. Based on Council feedback, the following question was drafted for the City Council’s consideration.

Issues/Analysis: The Strategic Plan is a ‘living’ document and updates will be required regularly to meet the challenges and priorities of the City. The Port St. Lucie Community Survey provides timely information important to the annual update of the City’s Strategic Plan and department strategic and operational plans.

                     

Financial Information: The City’s annual budget was developed to support alignment with the Strategic Plan. In addition, funding has been included in the budget to support the annual survey and outreach activities.
