Summary Brief (Agreements/Contracts only)
1. Prepared by: Brad Keen, Parks & Recreation Department.
2. Parties: City of Port St. Lucie and Port St. Lucie RC Hobby Group, Inc.
3. Purpose: Renewal allows for the continued use of Section 46, First Replat Tract E (25.33 AC) (map 33/12S) (613-2382) and First Replat G-6 (12.56 AC) (map(33/12S) (Dedicated as per plat) to operate radio-controlled (RC) devices and unmanned aircraft (UA).
4. New/Renewal/Modified: Renewal.
5. Duration: The term of the renewed lease, as set forth in this first amendment to the Lease Agreement, would commence on April 1, 2022 and end on March 31, 2027.
6. Benefits to Port St. Lucie: By renewing the Agreement, the City would continue to provide additional recreational space that will provide residents with the opportunity to participate in RC/UA activities.
7. Cost to Port St. Lucie (Annual and Potential): Rental payment of $12.00 to be paid by April 1st of each year to the City of Port St. Lucie.
Presentation Information: Parks & Recreation staff will be available to respond to any inquiries/questions from City Council.
Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council approve this first amendment to renew the Port St. Lucie RC Hobby Group, Inc., Lease Agreement.
Alternate Recommendations:
1. Move that the Council amend the recommendation and approve the first amendment for renewal of the Port St. Lucie RC Hobby Group, Inc., Lease Agreement.
2. Move that the Council not approve the first amendment for renewal of the Port St. Lucie RC Hobby Group, Inc., Lease Agreement and provide staff with further direction.
Background: On April 1, 2017, the City of Port St. Lucie and the Port St. Lucie RC Hobby Group, Inc., entered into a Lease Agreement for the property located at Section 46, First Replat Tract E (25.33 AC) (map 33/12S) (613-2382) and First Replat G-6 (12.56 AC) (map(33/12S) (Dedicated as per plat). This original lease agreement is set to expire on March 31, 2022.

Financial Information: All cost obligations have been defined in the agreement and are at the expense of the Lessee.
