body
Submitted By: Stephen Mayer, Planner III
Executive Summary: This is a request to change the future land use designation of a 0.689-acre portion of a property from Commercial General (CG) to a split designation of Light Industrial (LI)/Service Commercial (CS) for the purpose of providing consistency of the designation with the remaining portion of the property.
Presentation Information: Staff will make a brief presentation.
Staff Recommendation: Move that the Board recommend approval of the Comprehensive Plan map amendment to change the future land use designation from CG to LI/CS.
Alternate Recommendations:
1. Move that the Board amend the recommendation and recommend approval of the Comprehensive Plan Amendment.
2. Move that the Board recommend denial of the Comprehensive plan amendment.
Background: The subject property has an existing school use, approved via P93-035 and amended/expanded by P00-204. A prior small scale future land use map amendment (P99-152) changed the property from LI/CS to General Commercial in order to meet the needs of the school use. The property consists of a northern portion that has continued with a Future Land use designation of Light Industrial/Service Commercial (LI/CS) and the subject southern portion (0.689 acres) currently designated Commercial General (CG). The applicant desires to revert the Future Land Use designation of the southern portion back to LI/CS to match the current designation of the northern portion and redevelop the entire property in accordance with the warehouse industrial nature of the area.
