Executive Summary (General Business): Amending Chap 150, Building Regulations, Article 1 Administration, Amending Article VI, Contractors; Setting forth various provisions pertaining to the local construction regulation board structure and powers.

Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council adopt the proposed ordinance as attached.
Alternate Recommendations:
1. Move that the Council amend and approve the proposed ordinance.
2. Move that the Council deny the proposed ordinance and provide staff with direction.
Background: The proposed ordinance provides for a modification of the Building Department’s local construction regulation boards structure and powers.
Issues/Analysis: The Building Official worked with the City Attorney’s Office to provide an update to the structure and powers of the local construction regulation board.
Financial Information: The proposed ordinance will have no financial impact on the department.
Special Consideration: The Building Department needs a Board of Adjustments and Appeals. Having difficulty in forming this board, this ordinance will merge the two boards into one board that will hear appeals, as needed.
Location of Project: City wide as applicable.
