Strategic Plan Link: The City’s Mission to plan for smart and balanced growth.

Note: As of January 7, 2022 additional information and revisions to this item were provided by the applicant to reflect the removal of all language pertaining to the “T” sign and “Community” sign. These revisions are reflected in the proposed Ordinance, staff and applicant presentation. The Staff report attached is the report reviewed by the Planning and Zoning Board and does not reflect the proposed amendment going to City Council for review. It is City Policy to not alter staff reports prior to City Council, after Planning and Zoning Board has reviewed a project.

Executive Summary (General Business): The proposed amendment is to increase the amount of façade square footage permitted, to increase the number of monument signs permitted, to include the ability to add square footage to a single sign instead of adding an additional sign.

Presentation Information: Staff may provide a presentation.

Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council adopt the ordinance as recommended by the Planning and Zoning Board.

Alternate Recommendations:

1.                     Move that the Council amend the recommendation and adopt the Ordinance.

2.                     Move that the Council not adopt the Ordinance and provide direction.

Background: The Planning and Zoning Board recommended approval, with the additional condition that the “Digital Display Kiosk” signs be placed away from the streets so that not to be a distraction to drivers and not be located within and conservation areas, at their meeting of November 2, 2021.

Issues/Analysis: See attached staff report.
