3. Purpose: For repair work, drainage improvements and culvert replacements, restore swales for proper drainage.

5. Duration: Initial Contract Period is for two (2) years with the option to renew for one (1) additional 2-year period.
6. Benefits to Port St. Lucie: To keep Port St. Lucie beautiful.
7. Cost to Port St. Lucie (Annual and Potential): Estimated Annual Expenditures are $200,000. The initial contract period is estimated at $400,000. Total potential amount is estimated at $800,000.

Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council award Contract # 20200115 and enter into a unit price contract with Nature’s Keeper, Inc. to furnish & install sod.
Alternate Recommendations:
1. Move that the Council amend the recommendation and award Contract # 20200115.
2. Move that the Council not award Contract # 20200115 and provide staff with direction.
Background: The City of Port St. Lucie uses approximately eight-hundred thousand (800,000) square feet of sod per year for the City’s medians, roadsides, highways, water drainage areas and multiple other projects to preserve and maintain Port St. Lucie as a beautiful city for all ages.
An E-Bid was issued on November 4, 2020 to 342 potential suppliers. There were 9 plan holders with 1 proposal being received on November 24, 2020.
Issues/Analysis: Staff reviewed Nature’s Keeper, Inc.’s submittal and finds it responsive and provides the best value to the City. Nature’s Keeper, Inc. has provided the City with excellent services for 15+ years.
Financial Information: Funds are appropriated in Stormwater/ Drainage Division/ Road Materials (401-4126-553000).

Location of Project: Throughout the City of Port Saint Lucie.
