3.                     Purpose: Amend the agreement for an extension of the term.

4.                     New/Renewal/Modified: Modification of the agreement term end date.

5.                     Duration: Extend the agreement through June 30, 2026.

6.                     Benefits to Port St. Lucie: The amendment will extend the contract so that it will allow for the Vulnerability Assessment to be finalized and up to $500,000 of the design cost will be reimbursed by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.

7.                     Cost to Port St. Lucie (Annual and Potential): There is no cost to the City.

Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council approve the Amendment to the Grant Agreement and authorize the City Manager to execute the Amendment on behalf of the City.

1.                     Move that the Council amend the recommendation and approve the Amendment to the Grant Agreement.

2.                     Move that the Council reject the Amendment to the Grant Agreement and provide direction.

 

Background: The City of Port St. Lucie and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection entered into the original Grant Agreement on November 23, 2023, which allows the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to reimburse the City up to $500,000 for the Vulnerability Assessment.  The agreement will expire on June 30, 2025, and the amendment will extend the Grant Agreement term beyond the expected study completion date.

Financial Information: The grant agreement allows the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to reimburse the City up to $500,000 for the Vulnerability Assessment.

Location of Project: The project is a Vulnerability Assessment that includes the entire City of Port St. Lucie.
