Executive Summary (General Business): The City’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program Equipment Rebate Voucher Application has been approved by the Department of Energy. 

 

Presentation Information: N/A

 

Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council approve Grant Agreement 23FAC001G.

 

Alternate Recommendations:

1.                     Move that the Council amend the recommendation and approve the Grant Agreement.                     

2.                     Move that the Council not approve the Grant Agreement and provide direction.

 

Background:  The City of Port St. Lucie was awarded a grant from the U.S. Department of Energy totaling $221,010.00. The funds will be utilized for the replacement of existing fluorescent lighting fixtures to LED lighting fixtures in the City Hall building. The awarded grant will decrease the buildings energy usage.

 

Issues/Analysis: The project Scope is detailed in the attached agreement.

                     

Financial Information: The grant provides 100% reimbursement of costs. Initial expenses will be charged from General Fund/Facilities.

 

Special Consideration:  The grant agreement’s deadline, reports, and reimbursement requirements have been reviewed by Facilities staff and appear feasible.
