Background: The intersection on SW Village Parkway in front of the new, to be built, Fire Station 20, is required to be upgraded to full signalization to better manage traffic. Due to the needs of Fire Station 20 the Fire District desired to install a span wire design and the city desired a full mast arm design for the signal per section 9.2.1 of the City’s Engineering Code and for the additional Stars and Stripe Park ingress/egress. The parties desire to enter into this Agreement for the benefit of the City’s Roadway and the Fire District’s emergency response coverage.
Issues/Analysis: The signal is an agreed upon condition for the site plan approval for Fire Station 20. (P23-117). The City shall reimburse Fire District in the amount of the cost differential between the original span wire design and the full mast arm design in the amount of $315,624.00.
