7.                     Cost to Port St. Lucie (Annual and Potential): PSLPD may charge for the actual costs of providing traffic control and enforcement within the Verano community.

Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council approve the traffic enforcement agreement.

 

Alternate Recommendations:

1.                     Move that the Council amend the recommendation and accept and execute the Traffic Enforcement Agreement.

2.                     Move that the Council not execute the Traffic Enforcement Agreement and provide staff with direction.

 

Background: Verano POA has requested that the City agree to permit its Police Department to enforce the traffic laws within the community. Verano POA has provided proof of insurance and an engineer certification that the roadways are in compliance with the current relevant laws.

Financial Information: PSLPD may charge for the actual costs of providing traffic control and enforcement within Verano.
