2.                     Parties: City of Port St. Lucie and Benet Inc., Office Depot, and Janitorial Depot of America.

3.                     Purpose: To provide janitorial supplies to all city departments.

4.                     New/Renewal/Modified: New

5.                     Duration: The initial contract is for 05/09/2022 through 05/18/2023 with the option of 4, 1-year renewals.

6.                     Benefits to Port St. Lucie: Utilize Brevard County’s janitorial supplies contract to provide a wide range of janitorial supplies that have been competitively bid to offer the best value to the city.

7.                     Cost to Port St. Lucie (Annual and Potential): Estimated expenditures will be $150,000.

Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council waive bidding, per Chapter 35.04(c), good cause shown, and approve participating in the Brevard County Contract #B-4-22-63 with Benet Inc., Office Depot, and Janitorial Depot of America, Inc. for the purchase of janitorial supplies.

 

Alternate Recommendations:

1.                     Move that the Council amend the recommendation and approve participating in the Brevard County Contract #B-4-22-63.

2.                     Move that the Council not approve participating in the Brevard County Contract #B-4-22-63 and provide staff with direction. 

 

Background: Various departments purchase janitorial supplies to maintain operations. Without proper cleaning, contaminates, germs, and viruses will gather on multiple surfaces in the workplace. 

 

Issues/Analysis: Staff has reviewed the Brevard County contract and finds that it meets the needs of the City and meets the requirements of the City’s procurement ordinance. Janitorial Depot of America, Inc. and Office Depot are current suppliers for these products and have provided good service to the City.
