Submitted By: Bethany Grubbs, Planner II
Executive Summary (General Business): This is a city-initiated text amendment to Chapter 158 - Limited Mixed Use Zoning District (LMD). The proposed is a City initiated Text Amendment to Chapter 158, Article IX.5. - Limited Mixed Used Zoning District of the Code of Ordinances. Staff identified that the Limited Mixed Use Zoning District (LMD) allows for uses listed in the Institutional (I) Zoning District. The purpose and intent of this Zoning Text Amendment is to provide consistency with the Comprehensive Plan, thereby, deleting the permitted and special exception uses listed in the Institutional (I) Zoning District from the Limited Mixed Use Zoning District (LMD) and revise the use classification “institutional” to read “enclosed assembly areas” under subsection (A).
Presentation Information: Staff may provide a presentation.
Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council adopt the proposed ordinance as recommended by the Planning and Zoning Board.
Alternate Recommendations:
1. Move that the Council amend the recommendation and adopt the proposed ordinance.
2. Move that the Council not adopt the proposed ordinance and provide staff direction.
