2. Parties: City of Port St. Lucie and Dana Safety Supply, Inc.
3. Purpose: To provide furnishing of light systems and components; aftermarket vehicle accessories, and public safety / emergency vehicle equipment and other equipment not related to vehicles.
4. New/Renewal/Modified: New.
5. Duration: Upon execution through July 14, 2029.
6. Benefits to Port St. Lucie: Utilize Bradford County Sheriff’s Office contract to provide a wide range of products that have been competitively bid to offer the best value to the City.
7. Cost to Port St. Lucie (Annual and Potential): Estimated expenditures for FY 2024-2025 is $100,000. Future expenditures for projects will be appropriated in each years’ budget.

Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council approve participating in Bradford County Sheriff’s Office Contract #BCSO2019-01, per Chapter 35.08(a)(10)(b) (piggyback exception) with Dana Safety Supply, Inc. for the purchase of Lighting, Emergency Lighting, Specialty Equipment, Public Safety Equipment and Accessories - Parts Sales and Installation Service.
Alternate Recommendations:
1. Move that the Council amend the recommendation and approve participating in the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office Contract #BCSO2019-01.
2. Move that the Council not approve participating in the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office Contract and provide staff with direction.
Background: Currently the Police Department utilizes Dana Safety Supply, Inc. for officer equipment, Field Force equipment, drone accessories, etc. The Police Department has been working with Dana Safety Supply, Inc. for several years and has developed a great rapport. Dana Safety Supply, Inc. updates the Police Department on lead times for equipment for the City’s officers use on a day-to-day basis.
Issues/Analysis: Staff has reviewed the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office Contract and finds that it meets the needs of the City and meets the requirements of the City’s procurement ordinance.
The City Contract number for this agreement dates from a previous Fiscal Year because the Police Department made a singular purchase under the Bradford County Contract at that time. However, this item is requesting Council to approve additional purchases, as described herein.
Financial Information: Funds are appropriated in the General Fund / Police - Support Services / Operating Supplies (#00 1-2105-552000-00000) & General Fund / Neighborhood Patrol Bureau / Operating Supplies (#001-2130-552000-00000).
