Executive Summary (General Business): On December 4, 2023, Resolution 23-R127 was adopted which created the operating procedures for Boards and Committees. Section III of the Resolution governs Board Appointment, Removal, Resignation, and Vacancies states that any Board member wishing to resign shall submit in writing notification to the City Clerk announcing their resignation. Terissa Aronson, representative for the St. Lucie County Chamber of Commerce, has resigned and requests that Maddie Williams serve as the Chamber’s representative.  Additionally, the Treasure Coast Builders Association has requested that Shiela Cash serve as their representative. These appointees will serve for the remainder of the term applicable to the members they are replacing.

Staff Recommendation: Move that the City Council approve the recommendation for appointment of the above applicants to the Public Art Advisory Board.

 

Alternate Recommendations:

1.                     Move that the City Council amend the recommendation.

2.                     Move that the City Council does not approve the recommendation and provide staff with direction.

 

Background: The Public Art Advisory Board has seven (7) members, and two (2) alternates and members must live in Port St. Lucie for at least a year. Membership must include Organizational Representatives from the St. Lucie County Chamber of Commerce and the Treasure Coast Builders' Association.
