Executive Summary (General Business): Section 158.244 of the Port St. Lucie, Code of Ordinances, states that a site plan shall terminate three (3) years from approval by the City Council. The Anglo Retail site plan (P22-263) was approved by the City Council on February 13, 2023, with an expiration date of February 13, 2026. Each extension is limited to a maximum period of two (2) years and shall not exceed four (4) years in total. The applicant is requesting a two (2) year extension, which would allow the approved Anglo Retail site plan to remain valid by granting a new expiration date of February 13, 2028. This expiration date will be the first extension the City Council may grant per Section 158.245.

Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council approve a two (2) year extension to the expiration date of the site plan for a new expiration date of February 13, 2028.

1.                     Move that the Council amend the recommendation and approve the site plan extension.

2.                     Move that the Council deny the requested site plan extension.

 

Background: On February 13, 2023, the City Council approved the Major Site Plan for Anglo Retail (P22-263).

 

Issues/Analysis: As set forth in Section 158.245 of the Zoning Code, an applicant may request an extension to an approved site plan by filing the request written to the Zoning Administrator prior to the expiration date of the approved site plan. The request is acted upon by the City Council. The extension is for a period of two years.
