6.                     Benefits to Port St. Lucie: To provide Anti-Scalant A-102 Plus for the City’s water treatment process.

7.                     Cost to Port St. Lucie (Annual and Potential): Estimated annual expenditure is $174,600. The temporary increase is a net change of approximately $28,000 for 6 months.

Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council approve Amendment #3 to Contract #20180167 Supply Anti-Scalant A-102 Plus with Amaya Solutions, Inc.

 

Alternate Recommendations:

1.                     Move that the Council amend the recommendation and approve Amendment #3 to Contract #20180167.

2.                     Move that the Council not approve Amendment #3 to Contract #20180167 and provide staff with direction.

 

Background: The original contract was bid in May 2018 and City Council approved the Contract on July 23, 2018. Since that time, the vendor has supplied Anti-Scalant A-102 Plus; however, due to recent market conditions and the economy with shortages in supplies, the vendor has requested a temporary price increase for 6 months. 

 

Issues/Analysis: Staff has reviewed and approved of changes due to the need for these supplies to continue daily operations at the water treatment facilities.

                     

Financial Information: The 55 gallon drum (including freight) price is increasing from $420.73 per drum to $567.99 per drum, or, from $7.65 per gallon to $10.33 per gallon. Funds are appropriated in the adopted FY 21-22 budget in the Water & Sewer Operation Funds/ Water Chemical (431000-141005).

 

Special Consideration: N/A.

 

Location of Project: Due to critical infrastructure sector of the Homeland Security Act, no location map is provided for Water Facilities.
