Executive Summary (General Business): On July 7, 2025, the State of Florida’s FY25-26 Online Sting Operations Program for Local Law Enforcement solicitation was opened. Our application was submitted on July 17, 2025. The funding will support the following activities: Providing reimbursement for approved online sting investigative operations, which include two (2) software subscriptions and the purchase of four (4) specialized computer workstations for our Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.

Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council accept the Grant Award and authorize the Chief to execute the grant agreement, and any future amendments to the same, on behalf of the city.
Alternate Recommendations:
1. Move that the Council amend the recommendation and approve the grant agreement.
2. Move that the Council not approve and provide staff with direction.
Background: State funding (Specific Appropriation 1293A) is available to create the Online Sting Operations Grant Program within FDLE to award funding to local law enforcement agencies to support their creation of sting operations to target individuals who are soliciting children online.

Financial Information: This grant award agreement will provide reimbursement for the approved costs outlined in Appendix C - Approved Budget of this agreement. The grant activity period is 7/1/2024 - 6/30/2026. There is no local match.
