Summary Brief (Agreements/Contracts only)

1.                     Prepared by: Oksana Savchenko, Procurement Analyst, PMD.

2.                     Parties: City of Port St. Lucie and Convergint Technologies, LLC (“Convergint”).

3.                     Purpose: To provide and install security systems and related equipment at City facilities.

4.                     New/Renewal/Modified: New.

5.                     Duration: Upon execution through February 18, 2029, with the option for up to three (3) one-year renewal periods.

6.                     Benefits to Port St. Lucie: Utilize Sourcewell’s contract to provide a wide range of products and services that have been competitively bid to offer the best value to the City.

7.                     Cost to Port St. Lucie (Annual and Potential): Estimated expenditures for FY 2024-2025 is $2,000,000.00.  Future expenditures for projects will be appropriated in each years’ budget.

Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council approve, per City Code of Ordinances, Section 35.08(a)(10)(a) (cooperative exception), to participate in the Sourcewell Cooperative Contract #RFP-121024 with Convergint for Facility Security Systems.

 

Alternate Recommendations:

1.                     Move that the Council amend the recommendation and approve participating in the Sourcewell Cooperative Contract #RFP-121024 with Convergint.

2.                     Move that the Council not approve and provide staff with direction.

 

Background: Convergint is a global systems integrator who works alongside a network of partners and manufacturer’s to design, install and service security, fire alarm, life safety, audio-visual, and building automation solutions for enterprise customers.

 

The City’s IT Department is requesting approval to participate in the Sourcewell Contract with Convergint in order to diversify its vendor pool for the support and maintenance of the City’s physical security system.

 

Sourcewell is a service cooperative created to provide programs and services to members in the government, education, and non-profit sectors.  Its statutory purpose is to assist members in meeting specific needs which are more efficiently delivered cooperatively than by an individual entity.  Sourcewell is a self-supporting government agency with oversight from a board of publicly elected officials.

 

Issues/Analysis: Staff has reviewed the Sourcewell Cooperative Contract and finds that it meets the needs of the City and meets the requirements of the City’s procurement ordinance.

                     

Financial Information: Each Department in the City may use one or multiple aspects of this Agreement.  Therefore, there will be various GL Codes used.

 

Special Consideration: N/A.

 

Location of Project: Various locations throughout the City.
