Background: The City Council awarded Contract #20220040 to Felix Associates of Florida, Inc. on June 13, 2022. From the time the construction start date was established, Tradition Parkway was extended through the project site, requiring a modification to the Contract. By changing the installation method from the open-cut method to the horizontal directional drilling (HDD) method, the impacts to the residents and the newly constructed Tradition Parkway extension will be reduced. The revised scope of work will also include a new 36-inch force main that will be installed via HDD beneath Tradition Parkway.
Issues/Analysis: Staff has reviewed the proposed changes described herein and finds it to be fair and reasonable.
Financial Information: Funds are appropriated in the Utility CIP Fund / Preventative Maintenance / Improvements O/T Building (#448-3516-563000-00000).
