6. Benefits to Port St. Lucie: The State has provided a legislative grant in the amount of $1,024,862 in funding for this project which brings the total amount of grant funding to $1,743,812.

Background: The City Council approved the Grant Agreement via Item 7c at its February 8, 2021 Regular City Council meeting which provided a Federal 319 Grant funding in the amount of $718,950. The State of Florida provided a legislative grant in the amount of $1,024,862 to bring the total amount of grant funding $1,743,812.
Issues/Analysis: The City recently received the attached Amendment 1 which provides an additional $1,024,862 in funding from the State. This Amendment updates and replaced the project timeline (Attachment 3 of the Grant).
Financial Information: Attachment 2 of the Grant is revised from an “at least” 45% match on the City’s part to now a 25% match. The 319 Grant Amount for Contractual services for construction remains $718,950, however, the State provided a Legislative Grant Amount of $1,024,862 for construction.
Special Consideration: This Amendment provides an additional $1,024,862 in State funding for the McCarty Ranch Area 4 Water Quality Restoration Project. The total amount of grant funding is $1,743,812 with the City match of $578,635 to bring the project total amount funded to $2,322,447.
