Executive Summary (General Business): The City is seeking a Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) Grant from the St. Lucie County Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) to assist with funding the construction of a sidewalk on SW Kestor Drive.
Presentation Information: N/A
Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council approve the Resolution.
Alternate Recommendations:
1. Move that the Council amend the recommendation and approve the Resolution.
2. Move that the Council not approve the resolution and provide staff direction.
Background: SW Kestor Drive is on the Sidewalk Master Plan list and on the List of Priority Projects with the TPO. This sidewalk project is anticipated to cost approximately $800,000. The Public Works Department is applying for a grant to assist with funding. A Resolution of Support by Council is needed as part of the Grant application.
Issues/Analysis: N/A
Financial Information: The grant amount is estimated at $650,000 and is available in FY 2024/25 which coincides with the anticipated construction of the project. There is a chance the grant may be split amongst applicants, but currently the City is the only applicant.

Location of Project: The project is located on SW Kestor Drive between Darwin Boulevard and Becker Road.
