Summary Brief (Agreements/Contracts only)

1.                     Prepared by: Michelle Fentress, Procurement Contracting Officer II, PMD.

2.                     Parties: City of Port St. Lucie and Convergint Technologies, LLC.

3.                     Purpose: To provide and install security systems and related equipment at the City facilities.

4.                     New/Renewal/Modified: New.

5.                     Duration: The initial term began on April 26, 2021 through April 22, 2025 with one (1) 1-year renewal term ending April 22, 2026.

6.                     Benefits to Port St. Lucie: Utilize Sourcewell’s contract to provide a wide range of products and services that have been competitively bid to offer the best value to the City.

7.                     Cost to Port St. Lucie (Annual and Potential): Estimated expenditures for FY 2023-2024 is $2,000,000.  Future expenditures for projects will be appropriated in each years’ budget.

Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council approve participating in Sourcewell Cooperative Contract #030421-CTL, per Chapter 35.08(a)(9) (cooperative exception) with Convergint Technologies, LLC, for the purchase of Facility Security Systems, Equipment and Software with Related Services.

 

Alternate Recommendations:

1.                     Move that the Council amend the recommendation and approve participating in the Sourcewell Cooperative Contract #030421-CTL.

2.                     Move that the Council not approve participating in the Sourcewell Cooperative Contract and provide staff with direction.

 

Background: Convergint Technologies, LLC, is a global systems integrator who works alongside a network of partners and manufacturer’s to design, install and service security, fire alarm, life safety, auto-visual, and building automation solutions for enterprise customers.

 

The City’s IT Department does not want to limit the City to only one vendor (Securitas) for the support and maintenance of the Lenel physical security system. 

 

Issues/Analysis: Staff has reviewed Convergint Technologies, LLC’s contract and finds that it meets the needs of the City and meets the requirements of the City’s procurement ordinance.

                     

Financial Information: Each Department in the City may use one or multiple aspects of this contract.  Therefore, there will be various GL Codes used.

 

Special Consideration: N/A

 

Location of Project: Various locations throughout the City.
