Executive Summary (General Business): Born Learning Trail is a series of ten interactive signs that offer fun, active learning activities for young children and their families.
Presentation Information: Jessica Taylor, President & CEO United Way of St Lucie County will make a brief ten-minute presentation.
Staff Recommendation: Request that the Council provide input and direction on the placement of a Born Learning Trail at one of the proposed City Park locations.
Background: The Born Learning Trail Program began in 2005 as United Way’s first national public engagement campaign. The trail consists of a series of ten interactive signs that offer fun, active learning activities for young children and their families. This year Cleveland Clinic is partnering with the United Way of St Lucie County to place a Born Learning Trail at a Port St Lucie public park. Cleveland Clinic will provide a sponsorship to the United Way to purchase the supplies for the Born Learning Trail as well as provide the volunteers to install the Born Learning Trail at the City park that is selected. The proposed park locations for the Born Learning Trail are Woodland Trails Park, Jessica Clinton Park and Winterlakes Park.
