Executive Summary (General Business): The City has been asked by the TPO to express support for its 21/22 List of Priority Projects to assist in obtaining a Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) Grant from FDOT which will be used to partially fund the Sidewalk/Trail Project on Volucia Drive.
Presentation Information: Staff will be available to answer questions.
Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council approve the Resolution

1. Move that the Council amend the recommendation and approve the Resolution.
2. Move that the Council not approve the resolution and provide staff direction
Background: Volucia Drive from East Torino Parkway to West Blanton Boulevard is on the Sidewalk Master Plan list and on the List of Priority Projects with the TPO. This corridor was identified as a potential trail and will be constructed as an 8’ to 10’ trail. This trail will provide a connection to the future Torino Regional Park. A Resolution of Support by City Council is needed as part of the Grant application.

Financial Information: A grant in the estimated amount of $650,000 is available in FY 2024/25 which will off-set the cost of the construction for the sidewalk/trail project estimated to be $1,274,560.

Location of Project: The project is located on Volucia Drive between East Torino Parkway and West Blanton Boulevard.
