Summary Brief (Agreements/Contracts only)

1.                     Prepared by: Kelly A. Tiger, Special Events Administrator.

2.                     Parties: City of Port St. Lucie , City of Port St. Lucie Parks & Recreation Department & Port St. Lucie Downtown Lions Club.

3.                     Purpose: Sale of alcoholic beverages for 2022 Festival of Lights.

4.                     New/Renewal/Modified: Renewal.

5.                     Duration: Saturday, December 3, 2-10 p.m.

6.                     Benefits to Port St. Lucie: By partnering with the Port St. Lucie Downtown Lions Club Foundation, LLC., the City is able to continue to offer this popular family- oriented annual event, which has become a staple to the Port St. Lucie community.

7.                     Cost to Port St. Lucie (Annual and Potential): No costs are associated with partnering with the Port St. Lucie Downtown Lions Club Foundation.

 

Presentation Information: Parks & Recreation staff will be in attendance to answer any questions of City Council.

 

Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council approve the 2022 Festival of Lights Event License Agreement with the Port St. Lucie Downtown Lions Club.

 

Alternate Recommendations:

1.                     Move that the Council amend the recommendation and approve the 2022 Festival of Lights Event License Agreement with the Port St. Lucie Downtown Lions Foundation.

2.                     Move that the Council provide staff direction for the 2022 Festival of Lights Event License Agreement.

 

Background: Festival of Lights is an annual event offered by the Parks & Recreation Department to help the community celebrate the holiday season.  The Port St. Lucie Downtown Lions Club Foundation provides for the sale of alcoholic beverages during the event and has done so for the last 15+ years.
