Summary Brief (Agreements/Contracts only)

1.                     Prepared by: Kelly A. Tiger.

2.                     Parties: City of Port St. Lucie Parks & Recreation Department and the Port St. Lucie Downtown Lions Club Foundation, Inc.

3.                     Purpose: Sale of alcoholic beverages for 2023 Festival of Lights.

4.                     New/Renewal/Modified: Renewal.

5.                     Duration: Saturday, December 2, 2023 from 2:00-10:00 p.m.

6.                     Benefits to Port St. Lucie: By partnering with the Port St. Lucie Downtown Lions Club Foundation, Inc., the City is able to continue to offer this popular family-oriented annual event, which has become a staple to the Port St. Lucie community.

7.                     Cost to Port St. Lucie (Annual and Potential): No costs are associated with partnering with the Port St. Lucie Downtown Lions Club Foundation, Inc.

 

Presentation Information: Parks & Recreation staff will be in attendance to answer any questions of City Council.

 

Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council approve the 2023 Festival of Lights Event License Agreement with the Port St. Lucie Downtown Lions Club Foundation, Inc.

 

Alternate Recommendations:

1.                     Move that the Council amend the recommendation and approve the 2023 Festival of Lights Event License Agreement with the Port St. Lucie Downtown Lions Club Foundation, Inc.

2.                     Move that the Council provide staff direction for the 2023 Festival of Lights License Agreement.

 

Background: Festival of Lights is an annual event offered by the Parks & Recreation Department to help the community celebrate the holiday season.  The Port St. Lucie Downtown Lions Club Foundation, Inc., provides the sale of alcoholic beverages during the event and has done so for the last 15+ years.
