Executive Summary (General Business): This is the review and adoption of the City of Port St. Lucie’s Federal Program.
Presentation Information: A 10-minute presentation will be provided by Kate Parmelee, Strategic Initiatives Director.
Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council adopt the Federal Program.
Alternate Recommendations:
1. Move that the Council amend the recommendation and adopt the Federal Program.
2. Move that the Council provide staff direction.
Background: The City Council adopts its Federal Program in order to advance components of the Strategic Plan and other policy priorities. The program has been developed in consultation with staff from the St. Lucie County Board of County Commissioners, the National League of Cities, Florida League of Cities, the offices of United States Senators Rick Scott and Marco Rubio and Congressman Brian Mast. In addition, staff has consulted with the City’s grants consultant, Sustainable Strategies DC and works with the federal delegation in advocating for federal grant funding.
