3. Purpose: Procure the services of one Contractor for the Abingdon Ave. Sidewalk Project which includes the construction of approximately 4,700 Linear Feet of 5-Foot-Wide concrete sidewalk on the south side of Abingdon Ave. from SW Import Dr. to SW Savona Blvd.

5. Duration: 180 Calendar days with no option to renew.
6. Benefits to Port St. Lucie: Since 2006 the City has prioritized the design and construction of sidewalks throughout the City.
7. Cost to Port St. Lucie (Annual and Potential): One-time expense of $622,769.00.

Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council award Contract # 20230040 and enter into a unit price contract with McTeague Construction Co. for the construction of the Abingdon Ave. Sidewalk Project.

1. Move that the Council amend the recommendation and award Contract #20230040.
2. Move that the Council not award Contract #20230040 and provide staff with direction.

Background: The original areas for the sidewalks were in the proximity of schools, especially elementary schools to provide a safe route to school. Abingdon Ave. is on the 10-year Sidewalk Master Plan list approved by the City Council. The City has allocated funds from the Half Cent Sales Tax to further the network of citywide sidewalks.

An E-Bid was issued on March 9,2023 to 1257 potential suppliers. There were 33 plan holders with 6 proposals submitted on April 17,2023.
