2. Parties: City of Port St. Lucie and Sulphuric Acid Trading Company.
3. Purpose: To provide sulfuric acid for the water treatment facilities.
4. New/Renewal/Modified: New.
5. Duration: The Contract Period began on July 15, 2021 for a twelve (12) month period with the option to renew for four (4) additional twelve (12) month period(s).
6. Benefits to Port St. Lucie: Sulfuric Acid is used to help clean out water and wastewater at our facilities.
7. Cost to Port St. Lucie (Annual and Potential): The estimated annual expenditure for FY 2021-22 is $185,000.00. Future years will be as appropriated in the budget

Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council Waive the Bidding, per Chapter 35.04 (c), good cause shown and approve participating in Palm Beach County's Sulfuric Acid 93% Solution, Bulk Delivery, Purchase of, Term Contract.

1. Move that the Council amend the recommendation and approve participating in Palm Beach County's Term Contract.
2. Move that the Council not approve participating in Palm Beach County's Term Contract and provide staff with direction.
Background: The Utility Systems Department operates two (2) reverse osmosis water treatment facilities, the James E. Anderson and Prineville sites that utilize sulfuric acid as part of their treatment process.
