Executive Summary (General Business): The proposed artwork for Sunlight Community Church of Port St. Lucie includes letters constructed of metal that spell out “SUNL_GHT.” The letters will stand 60 inches tall, and students will be encouraged to stand in place of the “I” to spell out the word Sunlight.

 

Presentation Information: Staff may provide a short presentation.

 

Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council adopt the resolution to approve the artwork as recommended by the Public Art Advisory Board.

 

Alternate Recommendations:

1.                     Move that the Council amend the recommendation and adopt the resolution to approve the artwork.

2.                     Move that the Council not adopt the resolution and provide staff guidance.

 

Background: On September 20, 2021, the Public Art Advisory Board (PAAB) approved the Public Art request for Sunlight Community Church (P19-097).

Financial Information: Maintenance of the artwork will be the responsibility of the property owner.

 

Special Consideration: N/A

 

Location of Project: The artwork will be located at 477 SW Cashmere Boulevard.
