Executive Summary (General Business): The City must annually appoint qualified residents to the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee. The Committee must consist of (8) board members with various backgrounds and who qualify to represent at least (6) out of the (11) categories established by the State of Florida and (1) elected official. The Committee's role is to review housing policies, procedures, ordinances and land development regulations and make specific recommendations to the City Council for incorporation into the Local Housing Assistance Plan (LHAP) through the adoption of an AHAC Report on a yearly basis.

Presentation Information: A verbal overview of this item may be provided by staff upon request of the City Council.

Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council approve the attached resolution appointing the individuals listed from Mayor Martin's recommendation memo to the City's 2023 Affordable Housing Advisory Committee.

Alternate Recommendations:
1. Move that the Council amend the recommendation and provide staff direction.
2. Move that the Council not approve the recommendation and provide staff direction.

Background: The City receives funding from SHIP (State Housing Initiatives Partnership) and as a condition of receiving these funds, the City is required by Chapter 420, Florida Statutes, to establish an AHAC. The City is required to adopt an LHAP and submit it to the Florida Housing Finance Corporation for approval every (3) years. The LHAP sets the local housing strategies and requirements.
