3. Purpose: To treat nuisance vegetation within the City's waterways, stormwater system, and greenways.
4. New/Renewal/Modified: Renewal.
5. Duration: November 1, 2022 through October 31, 2023.
6. Benefits to Port St. Lucie: To keep the City's waterways free of structure-clogging or unsightly growth.
7. Cost to Port St. Lucie (Annual and Potential): The requested increase amount is $95,699.29 which is a 14.3% increase. The additional services that are beyond the original scope of work is $98,880.00. The total increase amount to the contract is $194,579.29.

Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council waive the provisions of the Procurement Code, Section 35.04(c), for good cause shown, and approve Amendment #13 to Contract #20040116.

2. Move that the Council not approve the Amendment and provide staff with direction.

Background: This service was introduced and has been in effect for over 32 years when it became apparent that the traditional means of mechanical harvesting the vegetation that was inhibiting our stormwater conveyance and natural areas was cost prohibitive. The use of specialized pesticides and biological control such as grass eating carp and shell crackers continues to be a model approach to combat the plentiful nonnative vegetations that dominate the cities infrastructure.
