Executive Summary (General Business): Declaring the attached department items as surplus property will allow staff to conduct an online auction for the sale of the surplus equipment.
Presentation Information: N/A.
Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council approve the declaration of the attached surplus items represented in the attached for auction.
Alternate Recommendations:
1. Move that the Council amend the recommendation and approve the surplus declaration of the attached department assets.
2. Move that the Council not approve the surplus declaration of the attached department assets and provide staff with direction.
Background: Policy #19-01 for capital assets states: The City Manager or designee shall be authorized to approve all sales where the net revenue to the City does not exceed $15,000. All sales exceeding $15,000 in net revenue to the City will be approved by City Council, prior to completing the sale or conducting the sales event. Each of the attached items are expected to possibly net more than $15,000 in revenue to the City at auction. Therefore, staff is requesting approval in order to conduct the auctions and complete the sales of the equipment should the winning bids be in excess of the policy stated threshold.
Issues/Analysis: Staff has completed the Relinquish of Surplus forms and recommends approval.
Financial Information: Selling the equipment will result in revenue to the City.
