Background: For the City of Port St. Lucie to attract an adequate number of officers for the growing population, and to keep up with retirements, separations, etc., many additional officers need to be onboarded and trained. By focusing on the current recruitment plan, we have already streamlined the hiring process without lowering the standards of what our community expects. The City of Port St. Lucie recognizes the need to move beyond traditional recruitment campaigns and is now ready to utilize web-based programs that will highlight the day-to?day aspects of police work.
