Executive Summary (General Business): Finalize incentives and provide any new incentive recommendations for the 2024 AHAC Report. Staff from the Planning and Zoning Department, as well as Neighborhood Services and the City Attorney's Office, will be available for technical assistance.

Staff Recommendation: Move that the Board approve Affordable Housing Advisory Committee Incentive recommendations and decide on a public hearing date.
Alternate Recommendations:
1. Move that the Board provide new/additional recommendations for Affordable Housing Advisory Committee Incentives and decide on a public hearing date.
2. Move that the Board not approve the existing incentives and provide staff direction.

Background: The following is a summary of incentives as directed by Florida State Statutes. An overview of these incentives and recent actions taken by past AHACs will be presented by staff as a review. The Committee can discuss and finalize at the meeting on October 19th, 2024.

1. Expedited permitting: The processing of approvals of development orders or permits for affordable housing projects is expedited to a greater degree than other projects.


2. The allowance of flexibility in densities: To undertake efforts to amend Ordinance 23 to reduce the minimum square footage requirement for affordable housing.

3. The reservation of infrastructure capacity: Reducing or eliminating the cost of land decreases the cost of developing affordable housing.

4. The allowance of affordable accessory residential units:
