Executive Summary (General Business): The Port St. Lucie Police Department is requesting approval to expend $74,700 of forfeiture funds in accordance with F.S.S. 932.7055(4). Once approved by Council members, the funds will be incorporated into the City’s budget, via the budget amendment process.

Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council approve the forfeiture request.
Alternate Recommendations:
1. Move that the Council amend the recommendation and approve the forfeiture request.
2. Move that the Council not approve the request and provide staff direction.
Background: This process represents the initial Fiscal Year 2021-2022 request to expend Fund #603, Forfeitures.

Financial Information: The expenditure of funds is as follows: $44,100 for forfeiture-related operational costs; $25,000 to support various Crime Prevention and community policing programs including, but not limited to, the Roundtable of St. Lucie County, Castle, Boys & Girls Club, etc., and $5,600 for technical installation training for Special Investigations Division Detectives.
