Executive Summary (General Business): The Office of Management and Budget wishes to recognize the Procurement Management Division for achieving the FAPPO Award of Excellence for Public Procurement.

Presentation Information: 5 minutes. Nathaniel Rubel, Assistant Procurement Director will provide a brief overview of the accreditation.

Staff Recommendation: Request that the Council acknowledge the efforts of the City's Procurement Management Division.

Background: The Award of Excellence in Public Procurement and was established to recognize organizational excellence in procurement. It recognizes agencies that meet or exceed benchmarks and best practices in the Procurement Profession and is achieved by those organizations that obtain a high score on a rating of standardized criteria. The criteria for this award are reviewed and updated on an annual basis to ensure they reflect current best practices and to challenge member agencies to continue their quest for excellence. The program is designed to measure innovation, professionalism, e-procurement, productivity, and leadership attributes of the procurement function. The Excellence in Public Procurement Awards Program is sponsored by the Florida Association of Public Procurement Officials, Inc. (FAPPO).

The City of Port St. Lucie is one of only nineteen (19) agencies to win the Award in 2023.

The City originally earned the FAPPO Award of Excellence in 2004. During this one (1) year period, the City will celebrate 20 years of continuous accreditation.
