3. Purpose: The City is seeking a Local Projects Program (LPP) Grant from the St. Lucie County Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) for improvements made to the intersection at SW Gatlin Boulevard and SW Savona Boulevard. Improvements will be completed in a phased approach to address congestion management.

6. Benefits to Port St. Lucie: As the population of Port St. Lucie is experiencing exponential growth, roadway congestion continues to impact traffic. Phased improvements to the intersection will improve traffic patterns and increase motorist safety.
7. Cost to Port St. Lucie (Annual and Potential): On October 5th, 2022, the St. Lucie TPO Board approved funding eligibility for Intersection Improvements at SW Gatlin Boulevard and SW Savona Boulevard, to be constructed in FY 2023/24 by the City, with funding from the TPO through the FDOT Local Agency Program. These intersection improvements are currently ranked #5 of the St. Lucie TPO Congestion Management Process (CMP) projects list and is included in the FY 2021/22 List of Priority Projects. The Engineer's Cost Estimate projects the total construction cost at $694,606.52. Currently, the full amount is categorized as eligible for FDOT participation with reimbursement.
