Executive Summary (General Business): Approval of the Collective Bargaining Agreement ("CBA") between the City of Port St. Lucie ("City") and the International Union of Police Associations ("IUPA") Local 6015, representing the Officers bargaining unit, effective October 1, 2021 through September 30, 2024. This is a three-year agreement with no reopener.
Presentation Information: Staff is available to provide a brief presentation and to answer any questions the Council may have.
Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council approve the Agreement.
Alternate Recommendations:
1. Move that the Council amend the recommendation and approve the Agreement.
2. Move that the Council provide staff direction.
Background: The IUPA Officers bargaining unit represents 209 Officers. The current contract expired on September 30, 2021 and remains status quo until a successor agreement has been negotiated. Bargaining commenced on March 26, 2021, with the parties having met for nine (9) negotiation sessions. The Agreement presented will be ratified by the membership on December 8, 2021. The Agreement will be effective as of February 19, 2022, without retroactivity, and the economic package remains within the parameters authorized by City Council.
