Executive Summary (General Business): The proposed revisions to Chapter 72, Stopping, Standing, And Parking, serve the public health, safety, and welfare by updating maintenance requirements for utility trailers, requiring all utility trailers to be in operable condition and free of mold and mildew at all times.
Presentation Information: Staff will provide a presentation.
Staff Recommendation: Move that the Council approve the city-initiated text amendment to Chapter 72 of the City of Port St. Lucie Code of Ordinances as recommended.
Alternate Recommendations:
1. Move that the Council amend the recommendation and approve the city-initiated text amendment to Chapter 72 of the City of Port St. Lucie Code of Ordinances.
2. Move that the Council provide staff direction.
Background: In an effort to ensure property maintenance standards remain clear, enforceable, and responsive to community needs; NSD identified deficiencies relating to operability standards and mold/mildew on utility trailers within our current ordinance. In order to resolve these deficiencies, NSD created proposed amendments to the current ordinance that would allow for these issues to be addressed. These changes protect neighborhood aesthetics and prevent conditions that could contribute to blight.
