body
Submitted By: Clyde Cuffy, P.E., Public Works
Strategic Plan Link: The City's Goal of high-quality infrastructure and facilities.
Executive Summary (General Business): Public Works is proposing the first revision to the Engineering Standards for Land Development. The existing Engineering Standards were adopted by Ordinance 20-78 on December 14, 2020. The proposed revisions clarify procedures and specifications that are already in place but were not clearly specified in the Engineering Standards. Additionally, the Roadway Section Requirements table is being revised to include the average daily traffic as a criterion for roadway design specifications.
Presentation Information: Staff will present a brief overview and will be available to answer questions.
Staff Recommendation: Request that the Council reviews and provides directions to staff.
Background: Reference to the Engineering Standards has been listed in the Code of Ordinances within the Land Development Regulations and the initial version of the Engineering Standards was adopted by Ordinance 20-78 on December 14, 2020. Since the initial adoption, there has been the desire to update the Engineering Standards to address clarifications to the standards so that the specifications listed in the Engineering Standards are consistent with the procedures in practice. Public Works is therefore proposing the first revision to the Engineering Standards for Land Development.
Issues/Analysis: Staff is requesting Council's review and direction.
Financial Information: There is no anticipated cost to the city for this revision.
Special Consideration: The mobility plan and fee update are being reviewed in conjunction with the Engineering Standards.
Location of Project: Citywide.
